Our Story

Draft & Drift started with a simple idea, that Whyalla deserved a more intimate spot to sit down, slow down, and enjoy a really good drink. What began as just an idea quickly turned into a passion project, with the entire bar being self-renovated and carefully built by hand. Countless hours of hard work, creativity, and love have gone into creating a space that feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely personal. We wanted to create somewhere that felt a little different from the usual; a place where the drinks are thoughtfully made, the atmosphere invites you to stay a little longer, and every corner has its own story. The little quirks and handmade touches are what make Draft & Drift unique, it’s not polished to perfection, and that’s exactly what gives it character. Whether you're discovering a new favourite wine, trying a cocktail crafted with house-made syrups and fresh ingredients, or simply unwinding after a long week, we’re here to make every visit feel relaxed, memorable, and worth your while.
